Bachelor course: Electrical and Electronic Engineering
Semester: 3

About myself: Ever since I can remember I seek for challenges in what concerns my studies and not only. I can say I was always a technical person with logical thinking and with a high curiosity and determination. I was always eager to strengthen and highlight my strong points and diminish my weak ones. Of course everyone fails at least once. But those were the moments when I realize the only way in which you can grow and achieve your goals is to exit your comfort zone and always be perseverant. Do what you love and you’ll be one of the best.

About PROUD: I joined PROUD with the aim of doing the best out of my studies and building up my professional profile. I see PROUD as a chance of gaining more practical experience, of getting a bit of the taste of industry field while still studying. I could say it’s a training for working life, something that not everyone has the opportunity to receive. More about it, you achieve your goals being part of a supportive and united team, taking responsibilities in the community, but also having fun.

Bachelor course: Electrical and Electronic Engineering
Role in PROUD committee: Internal affairs

About myself: I’m an enthusiastic and curious person, looking for new challenges everyday. I’m always looking for gaining new technical and non technical skills and improving my current ones. currently I’m active and interested in new and cutting edge technologies and finding potentials to integrate them in different societies.

About PROUD Programme: Proud was the place to find the like minded people, get inspired by their ideas and experiences. It is the cool open platform for new ideas; from doing research on Fontys education and publishing it in different conferences till having collaboration with international groups or companies in the region, there is a huge range of possibilities that can be done.
For me it was really nice to have all these external possibilities but also proud gave me some extra hands on helping and trying to shift Fontys curriculum which meant a lot to me.

Bachelor course: Electrical and Electronic Engineering

About myself: My field of interest is power electronics, especially industrial and automotive.

About PROUD Programme: Having started as a bachelor student at the TU/e before, I had a lot of spare time at Fontys. I was a bit bored and had the idea that I wasn’t learning new things. Peter van Kollenburg advised me to see if I was interested in PROUD. I joined PROUD and got in to contact with Prodrive-Technologies. Together with some other students, I started the PROUD student committee, which together with the PROUD teacher committee forms the board of PROUD. Looking back, I think PROUD is exactly what I was looking for because the way it is set up. It brings you in to contact with companies and lets you organize things at Fontys.

Bachelor course: Electrical and Electronic Engineering
Semester: 5

About myself: I’m passionate about electronics and a big fan of the internet of things. I’m mainly interested in software, embedded systems and wireless technologies. In my short career as a student I’ve worn many hats already, things varying from analogue designer to embedded software developer to application developer. I love prototyping and designing big systems. Not only do I have big ideas, I execute them, execution is what matters after all.

As an undergraduate it’s my main mission to have as much experience as possible before I start my career. So I’m always looking for new thing to learn and accepting new challenges. Besides the normal course, I work multiple side projects and when time allows it, I’m at home working on hobby projects.

About PROUD: I joined PROUD because I want to get a name in the industry, gain experience about how the development process is done and ultimately build an excellent curriculum vitae to kick-start my career. I see PROUD as a great opportunity for my personal development. It allows me to further improve both my professional and technical skills by working in an environment with engineers and professionals.

Bachelor course: Electrical and Electronic Engineering
Semester: 7
Role in PROUD committee: Media

About myself: I am young student eager to get more and more technical knowledge. Challenging myself became part of my behaviour during the first year of studies, that is why I joined Proud program. If I was to choose a word that definitely does not describe me, I would say ‘lazy’ – I spend most of the time on activities that prove me that I am hardworking person.

About PROUD Programme: For me as an Eastern European, the education at Fontys prepares the student to work in the industry much more than what I would get in my motherland – usually an engineer with a master degree has spent 2 months on the internship, and here getting a bachelor degree requires the student to work for a minimum of a year, but I am of course aiming for more, and the Proud programme gives me the chance to realise it.
