Category : Events

On November 8, 2016 took place intake for new PROUD members! This year’s Fontys PROUD intake included candidates from Fontys Electrical Engineering and Mechatronics. We had wonderful day together with enthusiastic and ambitious candidates.

During the pitch, PROUD candidates shared their ambition, their eagerness to share their experience and they reflected on their dreams to become the brightest professionals!

Interviews with pitch had a jury from the industry (AME, Bosch, Philips, TSS4U, Van Ulzen, YLC, YER), PROUD Alumni, PROUD teachers, PROUD students and our dean Ella Hueting.

Check out the highlights on the photos below 🙂

Het thema van 2016 was “Engineering Education on Top of the World: Industry and University Cooperation” en was van 12 – 15 September 2016 in Tampere, Finland.

About me: I’m a member of the Proud committee since September 2014. Graduated at Fontys Electrical Engineering myself in 1999. In 2002 I finished a Master of Science at TUE in Technology and Innovation, with technical specialization Telecommunication-ICT.  Since 2002 I’ve worked in several consultancy, project manager and business development jobs most often international environments. My profile is called a commercial technical engineer, which means  I’m specialized in the interaction of aspects in a broad perspective in product development as well as organization development.  So my classes will teach the students to put technology in a commercial, social or business context!

About myself: I am an Engineer in the making, motivated by hands on experiences and working in a team. It makes me happy to contribute to the development of people and see them grow. I am an open person up for a challenge – always willing to learn.

About PROUD program:PROUD was a chance to contribute to a community of students with a common goal – to become a top notch Engineer once you are done studying. It was this environment that helped me improve my technical skills and gave me a chance to enhance my soft skills. It is a surrounding that makes me feel like I am a part of something bigger while following my education. PROUD is a community that I am happy to give back to.

About myself: I am mostly interested in embedded and digital solutions and their optimisation. I always like the challenge to make something work with constrains of processing power or memory, where even smallest things have to be considered. Also during my minor I improved my PCB design skills using CadSoft “Eagle” software.

About PROUD: I think PROUD is a great opportunity to learn something new and gain experience from the company. In my opinion, best way to learn something is to apply it in practise, and then try to improve based on results, and PROUD program provides just that.
